Creating a casual restaurant where the locals could flock was the goal of a recent Apex project.
Ashling Inc., a New England restaurant and retail developer, hired our carpenters to complete the finish work on the new Red Bird restaurant in Waltham, giving this new eatery the polish it needed to earn its place as a local hot spot.
The owners of this Waltham–based eatery envisioned a casual, inviting space that beckoned regular customers with an affordable, yet refined menu of modern classics, created by Chef Dan Stokes. But you can’t draw customers in without the right atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant looks a lot like the eatery’s menu, classic with a modern twist. It’s a little bit of urban loft with its industrial touches—metallic surfaces and rivets, modern light fixtures and a sleek modern tile wall—but warmed up with natural wood details and cushioned banquette seating.
We welcomed the opportunity to work with Ashling Inc., which was founded by Thomas K. Clark in 2003, and has since made name for itself in New England retail and restaurant development and construction. As always our team focused not only on providing the fine finishes the project demanded, but also meeting the demanding timeline of a commercial job.
In the end, this team effort gave this new local jewel the wings it needed to soar.
